![]() ![]() ![]() One for next person I would be logging to has /camp "charname" and have the camp buttot if want to can to char select or desktop. I do my ts by alpha so I know what toon needs to be done next and have 2 buttons on my hotbar. My room is published and can get to it from most anywhere except inside instances. I have a lot of depots to exchange those items and 17 portal devices to take me most place need to go. My toons are all 95 crafters and I do dailies and weeklys, check ponies and goblins take care my buying and selling new broker item great for that if in my room doing things and I have each trade and 2 woodworkers so have all the crafting table in my room with frostfell crafting as well. Apparently not unless I macro /camp charname 15 times on each toon ”About your camp situation this how I setup my 10 toons to switch toon. I was hoping that I could reduce keystrokes. Aside from an occasional boss-specific one where my brigand had to take out wandering incomings that spawned, which is definitely not something worth putting on extra buttons. ↑ “ Thing is, I have yet to use macro's in-game. And yeah, you do want shortcuts when you're dealing with that a lot! I know what you mean about the hotbars we only have 10, and Uwk here has used up just about every possible slot on them, what with the addition of the decoration stuff as well. Far better to give too much info than not enough, say I! -> (Love that reference, btw!) ”Hee! Nice to know others remember! But yeah, when in doubt with tech support or technical writing (both of which I've done, though I'd sooner be a bag lady on Skid Row than do phone tech support ever again X-/), presume the audience (and not necessarily just the original correspondent!) doesn't possess a lot of jargon terms, then go up from there. Alas, that is not the case.īTW, my first introduction to "macros" were DOS batch (.bat) programs, so I do grok the concept. If SOE didn't use up so many hotbars with the regular spells I might have one left over to use for messing around with macros & trying to bind some to the D1-12 keys. If it were possible to drag a SOE macro to it, that would be fabulous, but it's text input.keystrokes only. ↑ “ From my testing it seems to be limited to 8 characters, so /tar field marshall what's-his-name in Storm Gorge was a no go (that was the very first thing I tried). Unfortunately, I have no idea whatsoever how to program it into a physical keyboard. ![]() Drag the icon down to your hotbar, and voila! You can choose an icon for the macro, a Command (as if you were typing it in the usual way, like /save_layout, for instance), and other steps, and then save it. Click on a blank macro area once you're in that tab (if there's any blank ones left, and you already know how to set them up in-game in the first place in which case, just ignore me ->), and you'll get the macro screen. Hit.er.I think the default is, just type "O" and that brings up the list of Emotes, and another tab for Macros. Basically, what macros are in any computer software are little mini-programs, a line or two telling the rest of the software, "Okay, when I hit this key on the hotbar, I want this to happen." A lot of decorators use 'em as shortcuts for all the /save_layout and /load_layout bits (took me forever to grok onto it, and many folks suggesting it. Not sure how well they'd work as keyboard buttons. ”Macros are pretty easy in EQ2, but I usually just assign hotkeys in my hotbars on-screen, in-game for 'em. Is there anything that this keyboard can add to my gaming other than backlighting the keys?Įdit: I know this isn't actually a tech suppport question but I'm not sure where the heck else to ask. ↑ “ I was given this keyboard by my husband and he carefully pointed out all these extra buttons that it has that I can assign my macros to.thing is I have never in my gaming life used a macro. ![]()
